Sunday 11th July 2010 saw a spectacular dance show produced by Dance Academy UK entitled " A Night with The Stars".
Nearly 200 dancers and singers were co-ordinated in a spectacle that easily could have been a West End performance.
Dancers
and singers from all over Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire performed
before an almost sell-out audetorium at the Alban Arena with guest of
honour Councillor Maxine Crawley, The Mayor of the City and District os
St. Albans.
The Mayor said..
"My daughter and I spent a delightful evening at the Alban Arena on
Sunday being entertained by Dance Academy UK The children were very
sweet and the adults were clearly enjoying themselves on stage as much
as the youngsters. We were not only impressed with the calibre of the
dancing but also by smiling faces of all who took part. The soloists
were amazing and the whole show was performed with warmth and good
humour. The icing on the cake was being able to meet the dancers
backstage during the interval. All in all it was a spectacular and
memorable evening."
Principal of the school, Liana Wall, fractured a metatarsal bone in her
foot backstage an hour before curtains up, but true to her dedication
to her performers and staff and her outstanding professionalism, she
continued to direct the show and gave her final speech to the audience
before rushing to hospital.
The audience left the theatre commenting on the unbelievably high
standard of dancing and choreography of both pupils and teachers.
Dance Academy UK are now taking bookings for the September term for
children and adult dance classes if you wish to be part of one of the
countries greatest school of dance and performance.
